It hasn’t even been six months since Carrie Underwood’s hubby announced that he was retiring from the NHL. 17 years of playing is hard to give up. So Mike Fisher has decided to change his mind and join the game again. Fisher held a press conference at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday morning (1/31), announcing that he’s come out of retirement to rejoin the Nashville Predators. Of course, Carrie Underwood and Mike are so amazing with each other that Carrie goes in complete support mode and encouraged him to rejoin the team, with Mike saying during the press conference, “Carrie kept asking me almost every day what I was going to do. She wanted me to do it. She’s usually right.”

Underwood was quick to publicly congratulate her hubby on his return to the ice, tweeting, “This is happening! Fish is back! So proud of you, baby! We want the cup!!!”

Fisher rejoins the team after their historic run for the Stanley Cup last year, which ultimately ended in a loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the finals.

Mike hopes to sign a contract for the rest of the season by the February 26 trade deadline.
